Seminarul international Future-Past. Learning from history for a better tomorrow va avea loc intre 1-4 mai 2014 in Górki Wielkie langa Katowice, Silezia, Polonia si se va concentra pe temele: leadership, drepturi ale omului, dialog si toleranta. Seminarul va aduna 30 de tineri din 10 tari. Deadline aplicatii: 10 martie 2014.
With the rise of the economic crisis the tensions in Europe are rising and many people fall to extremist ideology and start to question the basic values of human rights and democracy. Minorities, especially immigrants, but also the people representing a different point of view, are falling victims to acts of verbal or physical violence. With the change of generations, the leaders of the ”old” world are passing away, while the new leaders are still not visible or unclear.
The international seminar ”Future-Past. Learning from history for a better tomorrow” will focus on the topic of youth leadership for human rights, dialogue and tolerance. During the seminar volunteers and leaders coming from youth organizations from 10 countries will search for answers to the following questions:
Are human rights still up to date? Does the world still want them and need them?
Who are the leaders of today? How can we create the leaders our future needs?
Extremism, populism, phobias – where does this lead and how can we change the course?
What educational methods can be used to support teaching of tolerance and respect for diversity and human rights in an innovative way?
How can ERASMUS+ support the teaching of tolerance, respect and the development of young leaders?
The 4 day seminar is planned to take place in Górki Wielkie near Katowice in South Poland, from the 1st to the 4th of May 2014. It will be based on presentations and moderated discussions with experts and will also provide the opportunity for networking for the Erasmus + Programme.
